Neonatal – CCT

Neonatal emergencies for the flight paramedic. The tiniest patient can often be complex and require specialized care by the flight and critical care team. In this course, we will review normal and abnormal fetal development as well as common neonatal emergencies after birth. Flight consideration for neonatal patients is followed, finally by safety of these tiny guys and girls.  This course is one module of Flight & Critical Care Review and covers the following objectives in Neonatal Emergencies-

• Neonatal assessment
• Transition to birth and vascular access
• Isolette and transport considerations
• Delivery of HROB patient
• Hemodynamic management in neurological emergencies
• Pharmacology, ECMO and Nitric Oxide for neonates

The objectives for this course are aligned from the Flight Paramedic
Certification (FP-C®), Critical Care Certification (CCP-C®) and
the CCEMTP® outline; creating a comprehensive list of critical care
objectives.
