Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is said to significantly nearly 11 million people in the United States and is one of the most common complaints seen by EMS.  Despite the prevalence of this disease, there are both misconceptions and misinformation about the diseases that are included within the definition of COPD.
