Patients with Special Challenges (Autism) (F5) VILT

Autistic children pose unique challenges to the EMT and paramedic. Emergency responders should understand these challenges and the possibility of assisting law enforcement when an autistic child is missing.  Patients with autism is one of the fastest-growing disabilities in the United States.   Learning how to effectively interact with a patient with autism is crucial to ensuring the proper assessment and care for the patient and for the provider.  In this live interactive VILT session, the student will review and discuss the definition of autism as well as recognize traits and characteristics when interacting with patients.

This course is for the BLS & ALS Provider.
