This course is designed to educate medical providers in the various bloodborne pathogens that are recognized today and meet federal/state guidelines for education. 

Students will be prepared to discuss specific pathogens and their respective signs and symptoms as well as how to prevent exposure. The following topics will be discussed or researched during the course of the class:

    1. Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) 
    2. Employee Pathogens Training 
    3. Epidemiology and General Symptoms 
    4. Types of Transmission  
    5. Disease-Causing Agents 
    6. Prevention 
    7. Exposure Incidents-
    8. Total Course Completion Time
